## What SneakersBook Does

SneakersBook is a free-to-use platform available on iOS, Android, and the web, designed for sneaker collectors of all levels. It provides tools to:

- Scan a sneaker or its box with the camera to recognize it and auto-fill the details (Scan to Add)
- Track and organize sneaker collections into multiple named collections
- See an estimated market value for each pair, based on recent market data
- Manage portfolio values using user-entered current values (separate from the estimates)
- Set price alerts that notify you when a pair's estimated market value crosses a target (Pro)
- Follow upcoming releases on a drop calendar and get reminders before a pair drops
- Analyze profit and loss performance across your portfolio
- Export collection data as CSV or PDF for insurance, records, or sharing
- Share public collection profiles with the sneaker community
- Browse and discover other collectors' public collections
- Upvote collections, individual pairs, and collector profiles you like (community thumbs-up)
- Climb community leaderboards ranked by total pairs, achievements unlocked, upvotes received, and monthly logging activity
- Earn achievement badges across count milestones, brand tiers, value benchmarks, condition curation, profile completion, and logging streaks

## How Scan to Add Works

Scan to Add uses the device camera to recognize a sneaker and pre-fill its details, so a pair can be added in seconds instead of typing. Free on-device scans read the style code from the box label; AI-powered scans recognize the shoe itself. Scanning is optional and every detail can be reviewed and edited before saving, with manual entry always available. Scan to Add is currently available on Android, with iOS support coming soon.

## How Values Work

SneakersBook shows two distinct kinds of value. (1) Estimated market value: an estimate derived from recent market data, shown for reference on each pair. (2) Portfolio values: figures the user enters themselves for their own tracking. The two are kept separate. Estimated values are not guaranteed sale prices, appraisals, or financial advice, and the platform does not facilitate buying or selling sneakers. Users should independently verify any value before making financial decisions.
